Tinubu deliberately picked Northerners to occupy major positions in his govt

On Thursday, 18th April 2024, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, made a revealing statement regarding President Bola Tinubu's deliberate selection of individuals from the North to hold significant positions in his government.

Ribadu emphasized that Tinubu's intentional choice of appointing northerners to oversee crucial roles was aimed at effectively addressing the region's challenges.

Speaking in Sokoto, Ribadu stated, "At the time Tinubu was forming this government, he said the North was very dear to his heart and that he would do everything to address its challenges."

He highlighted Tinubu's strategic appointments, indicating that key positions such as security, defence, agriculture, education, health, and foreign affairs were entrusted to northerners. Ribadu urged fellow northerners to set aside their differences and collaborate towards the development of the region and Nigeria as a whole. He emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunity given by Tinubu to work collectively for the betterment of the nation.
