On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu commended Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for its significant reduction in the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), dropping from N1,650 to N1,000 per litre. This noteworthy decision comes as part of the Dangote Group's recent downward review of the Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) gantry price, providing a substantial discount for bulk purchases of the product.

Tinubu hailed this move as an "enterprising feat," emphasizing the profound impact of the 60% price reduction on the prices of various goods and services. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu underscored the crucial role of Nigerians and domestic businesses in driving the nation's economic prosperity.

Highlighting the Federal Government's stake in Dangote Refinery, Tinubu emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing the country's overall well-being. He urged Nigerians and businesses to prioritize the nation's interests while assuring them of a conducive environment to thrive.

This commendation from President Tinubu comes in the wake of a recent meeting with Aliko Dangote in Lagos, during which Dangote expressed optimism about a drop in inflation following the reduction in diesel pump prices. The businessman shared insights into the positive impact of reduced fuel costs on locally-produced goods, predicting a decline in inflation in the coming months.

Dangote urged industry leaders to collaborate with the government to improve the lives of citizens, stressing the importance of collective efforts for the nation's prosperity. His call for unity echoes the sentiment that cooperation between entrepreneurs and the government is vital for the collective benefit of all.
